After another year of getting ready for our big spring and summer push, we have kicked it off on sound footing! Our search for AVOP’s within our existing team was answered with great eagerness, so with a lot of enthusiasm, the hard work and homework began.
This year’s dedicated team members came to us from different backgrounds and skill sets. Now, they all sit in the same AAI C.O.R.E Training facility to achieve a common goal.
How do we do it?! Thru CORE!!
So far, we have successfully graduated 17 new DA AVOPs and 10 D AVOPS with 4 more in the queue!
Learning to drive on Apron I and the manoeuvring area requires a lot of studying and grit, and AAI’s AVOPs dedicate a lot of time to this process!
I am excited to introduce a few dedicated AVOPs who have gone through the training process and come out the other end successful. They have a few words they would like to share!
- My Journey with AAI Corp. I started my journey with AAI Corp in 2022 as a Surveillance Escort, with little knowledge about airside operations. However, the trust and support from AAI’s management gave me the confidence to grow. I obtained my DA and D through their guidance after completing Patti Hogg and all necessary training. Today, I am working as a Relief Supervisor, a role I’ve achieved thanks to AAI’s incredible coaching and positive environment. The company has allowed me to learn, develop my skills, and take on new challenges. I am grateful for the trust AAI has placed in me, and I look forward to continuing my growth within this organization.

- I started working with AAI last year, and from day one, I felt welcomed. The staff is friendly, and the supervisors are always available to guide and support us. Their dedication makes a huge difference, ensuring we feel confident in our roles. When I decided to upgrade to my DA license, I had the privilege of training under Patti and John. Both brought their unique strengths to the program. John constantly challenged us, pushing us to think critically and find solutions independently. His approach made us more independent and prepared for real-world scenarios. On the other hand, Patti balanced professionalism with an engaging and fun training style. She provided valuable tips and tricks to help us remember maps and made the learning process enjoyable. She was a mentor, a guide, and sometimes, a friend who knew how to simplify complex topics. From Surveillance Escort to DA, AAI has made this journey smooth, structured, and rewarding. With the right trainers, support, and genuinely caring team, I’m proud to be part of this experience. “They guide, train, help us grow, with knowledge and skills, and make us glow.”

- I joined AAI because I was really interested when my coworkers told me about it. I really wanted to be part of your company, where I could grow my knowledge and gain real-world experience. What I love most about AAI is the exposure to the airside environment and how supportive everyone is—it’s such a good vibe to be around people who are just as passionate. Getting my D AVOP was a great experience. The studying part was intense learning. All the airside markings, rules, and radio procedures took some time, but it was super rewarding. The practical side was good, especially driving near active taxiways and runways.
The teacher was super friendly, she showed me everything, and once I got comfortable, it was awesome. It made me feel more confident and capable of working in the airside environment. Thank you so much for helping me to achieve my AVOP. Thank you once again.

It has been a pleasure to work with all of these amazing individuals and watch them succeed in obtaining their AVOPs.
They all bring so much to the table and so much to our AAI environment and culture. It has been a pleasure for both John and me to be a part of your AVOP journey!
I’m looking forward to another successful summer!
