Meet the Management Team

Dean Lovric

Dean Lovric


As President and CEO of AAI Corp. and its sister company A.S.P. Security Services, Dean is responsible for the vision and development of the strategic direction of both organizations.

Dean leverages his 25+ years of experience in the industry to deliver innovative solutions that overcome our clients’ challenges.

Responsible for over 2,500 employees, Dean is an experienced executive and entrepreneur with an acute awareness of providing uniqueness within his service model and full accountability for results to clients.

Dean oversees operations with a relentless focus on clients’ needs and expectations, while providing our employees opportunities for growth within a positive work environment.

His objective is to provide leadership which promotes the mission, revenue, and profitability of the organization, while maintaining the unique tone and culture of our business.

Communicating our objectives in a transparent and clearly defined way allows us to ensure our select group of clients receive the service they expect with the results they desire.

James Catney

James Catney

Chief Operating Officer

James has over 36 years of experience in the aviation sector and has established long-standing professional relations with many of the leaders in the transportation community.

His past experience includes

James is responsible for all aspects of operational performance, operating budget, revenue generation, recruitment, training development and delivery, strategic planning and ensuring adherence to regulatory and company policies and procedures.


Pascal Helou

Chief Financial Officer

Pascal Helou brings his significant management and business experience to the AAI team. With a proven track record as a business operator, Pascal is highly experienced in the areas of general management, strategic planning, corporate finance, mergers and acquisitions, negotiations and organizational design.

Pascal completed his MBA at the Richard Ivey School of Business, University of Western Ontario. He also has a Masters Degree in Economics from the University of Waterloo, specializing in Macroeconomic Theory, Applied Mathematics and Econometrics, and has an Honours Economics degree from the University of Toronto.

Paul Tirkalas

Paul Tirkalas

Operations Manager

Paul is a proactive leader with over 30 years of combined project management, operations, transportation, and workforce optimization experience.

He currently manages the AAI Operations at the Calgary Airport Authority (YYC) and Springbank Airport (YBW) in Alberta.

Through effective communication, management, and negotiation, Paul has successfully developed and implemented cross-functional “resource planning” allocations within multi-million-dollar projects, including; VANOC 2010 Olympics; GTA Transit Properties and numerous projects within the oil sands of Northern Alberta.

Paul takes a long-range view of an organization’s business objectives and existing needs, to ensure successful implementation of strategic processes and resource allocation.

As a true believer in life-long learning, Paul continues to grow and has participated in ongoing development programs such as management development, “Canadian Urban Transit Association” (CUTA), HRIS/scheduling, as well as human resources to enhance and upgrade his skills.


Jack Catney

Operations Manager

Jack has over 11 years of experience working at Toronto Pearson International Airport in various front line and progressive roles including: baggage handler, security guard, screening officer, shift lead, operations supervisor, and service delivery manager.

Overseeing the daily operations for AAI’s security escorting, baggage handling and bus marshalling contracts, Jack is responsible for a workforce of close to 400 staff.

Jack builds his teams on the AAI foundation of Leading by ExampleTM while operating in a consistent, reliable, and collaborative manner with all clients, continually looking for ways to improve and maximize the business operations.

Nikolas Lovric

Nikolas Lovric

Contract Manager

With a focus on customer service and safety, Nikolas manages all aspects of the bus marshalling contract with Metrolinx at three major bus stations: The Hamilton GO Centre, Yorkdale Bus Terminal and Union Station Bus Terminal.

At AAI, he started as a bus marshal supervisor at The Hamilton GO Centre and quickly moved into a management role. It was during this time that he found his passion for safety.

In 2020, Nikolas carried out the successful implementation of bus marshalling and safety services at The Yorkdale Bus Terminal and the new Union Station Bus Terminal.
